Looking for something to do with the kids this December that doesn't cost a small fortune? Dollhouse Day at the Movies is bringing a holiday movie party to San Leandro on Sunday, December 6, and seats are $10 for everyone.
We're hosting a private screening of The Grinch (2018), narrated by Pharrell Williams, at Cinemark Bay Fair 16. Doors open at 11:30 AM and the movie starts at 12:00 PM. Get tickets on the event page.
What makes it a party, not just a movie
A doll for every kid. Every child goes home with a doll of their own.
No previews. The lights go down and the movie starts right on time, which is good news for short attention spans.
Pajamas encouraged. Holiday PJs, Santa hats, your best Who-ville hair. Singing along is welcome.
$10 for everyone. Adults and kids pay the same. Kids under 3 can sit on a grown-up's lap for free.
Why we do this
The Dollhouse Project is a San Francisco nonprofit that supports children's mental health through play. A movie afternoon with your family, a doll to bring home, and a room full of kids laughing at the same jokes is the kind of play that sticks with kids. So far we've welcomed more than 3,000 kids and given away more than 1,200 dolls at our events.
Sponsors and supporters cover the rest of the cost, which is how every seat stays at $10.
